Peter and Barbara Shields planted the vineyard in 1997, not only with the current Malbec and Merlot but also with Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon; the last two were not successful and were replaced, although one row of Cabernet still battles on.
Only organic fungicides are used in the vineyard. Pesticides are rarely used, and are always organic.
The Winery was established in 2004 with the objective of producing small lots of individual wine. Over the years it has become self sufficient, from receiving the grapes right through to bottling. Most laboratory analysis is undertaken on site. We guarantee all aspects of the wine in the bottle.
